Easy Halloween Candle Jars

So, last minute (shocker), I decided I needed some kind of decoration for Halloween. I didn’t give myself enough time to get and carve a traditional jack-o-lantern, so I had to come up with an alternative. These ghost, monster and jack-o-lantern tea light holders are an easy quick project for kids and adults alike. As a kid safe alternative, you can use the little battery operated tea lights.

You will need:
Empty jars (I used baby food, olive, and pickle)
Modge Podge or decoupage glue*
White, orange, and or green tissue paper
Black permanent marker or craft paint
          * Instructions for decoupage glue

Step 1: Clean the jars well, I also do final wipe on the outside with vinegar or rubbing alcohol. This removes any oils and fingerprints and allows the glue to stick better.
Step 2: Use the Modge Podge to apply the tissue paper to the jars.

Step 3: Allow jars to dry completely and then draw on the faces. I paint a final coat of glue over the faces to give the same finish as the rest of the jar.

Step 4: Add the candle and enjoy!
